PROGRAM I / 8 sessions - $1000
Following and learning foundational obedience via voice commands and hand signals.
“Sit”: Voice and hand signal.
“Stay”: To achieve control of the dog while standing, opening doors and crossing the street while on the leash.
“Down”: With a hand and voice command, the dog will learn to lay flat on the floor until given a different command. Note: The length of the command will depend on dog’s age and physical capabilities.
“Come”: This command teaches the dog to come (return to handler) and is the foundation of recall.
“Place”: A designated area of rest and control where the dog must remain. (Example: The dog will remain on the doggie pillow while owner is eating and working in home office)
“Heel”: This command teaches the dog to walk on the leash at the left side of the owner and respond to auto stops.
These sessions include modifying puppy behavioral issues.
PROGRAM II / 10 Sessions $1500
These sessions include all foundational commands in addition to remote/long distance commands. This program is for those who are looking to exceed foundational obedience.
“Long Stay”: The dog will learn how to “stay” up to 2 – 3 minutes from multiple distances. This will allow the handler to have better control and allow the owner to have more confidence with the dog.
“Off Leash Come”: This time we will use the foundation and extend it to the next level. This includes a 15 -30 feet “come”.
“Remote Down”: Raising your hand within the dog’s line of vision and/or giving a voice command and the dog responding to the “down” command from 15-30 feet away.
A $250 downpayment is required to reserve your dog's space. Cancellations within 7 days will be refunded fully. We schedule on a first come first served basis.
PROGRAM III / 18 sessions - $2500
Our Advanced program training includes long distance commands around live distractions and temptations with fast recalls. Socialization and control techniques, drills and utility sessions are all a part of this advanced package. Reinforcement of all foundational and intermediate commands will also be incorporated.
Locations for these sessions can include outdoor sessions conducted at a local park, store, dog park or desired neighborhood. These sessions will be performed side-by-side with the trainer to ensure that both the dog and handler have an opportunity to learn while the trainer evaluates both behavior and handling techniques.

AV’s trainers have always loved animals, fascinated with their appearance, behaviors and natural abilities. At a very early age, Alex and Kyle, having dogs of their own, quickly discovered the very special bond that dogs are able to develop with humans. Just like the first wolf that approached the campfire and ate from a human hand, the modern dog shares this ability to form an unbreakable, lifelong bond with humans.
With over 16 years experience, the AV Team has successfully trained over 5,000 dogs. AV’s training methods are based on pack theory, conditioning and behavior reinforcement. Our trainers excel in behavior modification through the use of commands and obedience drills.
We strictly maintain a kind, gentle practice with all our dogs. Regardless of a dog’s breed or background, our goal is to always promote positive relationships between humans and their four-legged best friends.
Meet our pack
At AV Dog Training, our pack specializes in obedience and behavioral training with an emphasis on owner education. Our team upholds the most professional service while spreading a message of love and understanding between owners and their pups!
Alex’s training career started at Miami Seaquarium as part of their training staff. Here, he had the opportunity to work around world-renowned marine mammal trainers and was able to understand the fundamentals of conditioning and behavior reinforcement to create a bond between animal and trainer.
Shortly after this, his strong passion for training animals led him to train canines and he began working in one of South Florida’s premier dog training companies. Alex was trained amongst multiple veteran dog trainers, allowing him to learn a wide range of training styles and philosophies that helped to shape his current unique training style.
Through the study and observation of canine behavior Alex is able to determine the needs of the dogs he trains and inform and educate the owner. This is one of the attributes that make Alex such a successful trainer, as he is able to understand and interpret everything the dog is trying to communicate through keen observation and experience.
Kyle’s natural connection and innate bond with dogs sparked from an early age.
After graduating from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Digital Media and Advertising, Kyle decided to follow his life long passion of working with dogs. Kyle’s career started right here at AV Dog Training. While studying, training and implementing the AV system, alongside head trainer Alex, Kyle brings his own unique set of skills and attributes to the AV Team. With effective, precise and easy to implement techniques, Kyle specializes in puppy behavior and obedience.
Kyle’s understanding, patience and knowledge, allows him to approach training with a fresh and exciting perspective.
